High-speed datacomms from PCMCIA card

New from Impulse is the latest addition to Sealevel's popular PCMCIA card family. The PC-COMM+232 is a two-port PCMCIA serial I/O card that provides two asynchronous serial ports for connecting to modems, terminals, printers and other data collection devices at datarates up to 460Kbit/s. The PC-COMM+232 uses the 16850 UART with a large 128byte buffer to allow high-speed datacommunications without data overruns.

Sealevel includes a 12in pigtail cable terminating in two DB-9P connectors.

The cable includes a positive locking connector that secures to the PCMCIA card eliminating unwanted cable disconnects.

Operating systems supported include Windows 95/98/NT/2000 and Linux as well as other operating systems that provide PCMCIA support.

Sealevel includes a comprehensive suite of software with the PCMCIA card consisting of: SeaCOM advanced COM drivers, including enhanced UART support for 16650 and 16950 UARTs, RTS enable and interrupt sharing capabilities; and SeaCOM applications, such as the WinSSD diagnostic utility for Windows 95/98/NT and 2000.

WinSSD allows the user to verify the board IRQ and address settings, modify the default UART parameters, perform internal and external loop back tests, toggle modem control signals, and transmit test pattern messages.

WinSSD also allows terminal-mode operations, bit error rate testing (BERT) and throughput monitoring.
