University of communications on the web

RAD University, the popular online datacommunications and telecommunications learning resource sponsored by RAD Data Communications, has been updated and expanded to include new tutorials on the infrastructure, network and application protocols layers. A new section on security protocols was added. The new Infrastructure Layer tutorials explore Ethernet, Frame Relay and SONET.

New tutorials on firewalls, SSL (Secure Socket layer) and digital signatures have been added under the new security protocols section.

Network Layer tutorials discuss ARP (Address Resolution Protocol) and QoS (Quality of Service), the new Application Protocols Layer tutorials concentrate on MIBs (management information bases) and WAP (Wireless Application Protocol).

These tutorials join dozens of others, as well as three separate, comprehensive glossaries covering technology solutions, networking and ATM.

RAD University tutorials are projects prepared by students in courses that have been taught at Tel Aviv University and the Technion, Israel Institute of Technology, by Dr Debby Koren, RAD's Director of Internet Technology.

RAD University has proven to be a well-respected educational tool at universities worldwide.

The site has been integrated into the Hong Kong Open University library and the curriculum of the Indian Institute of Management in Lucknow, and is used at the National Defense University in the USA and the Engineering Faculty at Mexico's Anahuac University.

"We at RAD are pleased to make this resource available to the global community, and we are grateful for the positive feedback that we receive on a regular basis from countries on every continent", Dr Koren states.

"We look forward to continue to expand RAD University on an on-going basis".

RAD University can be accessed from the RAD Data Communications website.
