Unit gives PLCs an Ethernet connection

The FP2 ET-LAN unit is an extension to the popular FP2 PLC series from Matsushita Electric Works, which enables Ethernet connection. It supports both the TCP/IP and UDP/IP protocols, enabling very fast, error-free communication with a broad range of computers and other network devices. Processes can be carried out on up to eight connections on the network using one FP2 ET-LAN unit.

This enables connection to multiple partner nodes.

The maximum number of units, which can be added to a system, is five for the FP2SH PLC (total 40 connections), and three for the FP2 PLC (total 24 connections).

All three types of Ethernet communication interface are supported (10BASE5, 10BASE-T and 100BASE-TX), and any one can be utilised.
