Amplicon to carry Ethernet products for first time

Amplicon Liveline, the specialist distributor offering IT and Instrumentation for Industry, has announced its appointment as value added distributor for Hirschmann Electronics Ltd. This agreement, covering the Rail Family of Industrial Ethernet products manufactured by Hirschmann Electronics, will be the first time Amplicon has carried Ethernet products, and will allow it to broaden the range on offer to its customers. The new Rail series products will complement those already on offer from Amplicon within the industrial communications area, such as PC plug in boards for serial communications and GPIB/IEEE488, and serial interface converters and extenders.

With Amplicon already supplying industrial computer systems, several of which have optional Ethernet ports, the addition of the well-known Hirschmann products will allow the company to offer a total solution for customers in the manufacturing, process and oil and gas industries.

Another recent addition to Amplicon's product range, the 1,2,4 and 8 port serial to Ethernet hubs, will also be supported by the Hirschmann products.

Amplicon will also provide pre and post sales support for the Industrial Ethernet products, which will include assistance with the design of customers' networks.

Hirschmann, based in Bedford, UK with European Headquarters near Stuttgart, Germany, is the European leader in the design and manufacture of Industrial Ethernet Hubs, transceivers, and switches.

The company operates three divisions specialising in Automation Network Systems, Mobile Communication Systems and Multimedia Communication Systems.
