Edge processor creates cost-effective monitor

EPS-Tech is to use Performance Technologies' award-winning enabling software and TDM/IP edge processing hardware to create a monitoring solution

EPS-Tech, a system-level electronic packaging solution provider, is to use Performance Technologies' award-winning enabling software and TDM/IP edge processing hardware to create a monitoring solution. EPS-Tech has developed a solution centred on Performance Technologies' NexusWare Core Linux-based software and CPC324 TDM/IP edge processor to create a series of probes for billing assurance, location base services, lawful interception, traffic sense performance and statistics.

EPS-Tech is a professional VAR distributor of electronic hardware for leading brand names in industrial computing and networking products.

Their systems are based on embedded computing hardware and standards-based microcomputing platforms.

Using Performance Technologies' NexusWare Core and CPC324 and following a successful development process, EPS-Tech was able to create a versatile, cost-effective monitoring solution that supports all system vendors and networks.

'Having a powerful, integrated development solution that includes NexusWare Core and the CPC324 coupled with our expertise in flexible SS7 stacks enables us to bring applications to market faster - which was a key factor for us in selecting Performance Technologies as a partner', said Shahar Ner-Gaon, Senior System Architecture Engineer at EPS-Tech.

'The flexibility and cost-effectiveness of Performance Technologies' solutions allow us to develop a wide range of applications from one platform'.

NexusWare Core is a comprehensive, highly integrated, Linux-based software distribution and development, integration and management environment designed to speed time to market for system engineers using Performance Technologies' solutions to build packet-based wireless and IP telephony systems.

When paired with the CPC324, NexusWare Core's strong Linux OS foundation offers a simple, rapid path to packet-based system development while providing developers with a simplified way to design in current CompactPCI-based systems.

The PICMG 2.16-compatible CPC324 offers TDM and high-speed packet processing flexible for today's converged TDM and IP communications applications.

Providing a powerful architecture supporting voice, data, signalling and monitoring applications, the CPC324 is the first true TDM/IP networking bridging product optimised for performance and flexibility.

'Our partnership with EPS-Tech is indicative of our overall strategy, which is to provide our customers with software and hardware solutions that allow them to concentrate on adding value to their applications and bringing applications to market both quickly and cost-effectively', said Steven Wigent, Access Product Manager for Performance Technologies.

'We are pleased to provide EPS-Tech with our enabling software and powerful TDM/IP edge processing hardware that allows them to create a versatile telecom subsystem for use in creating their critical applications'.

Currently, EPS-Tech has completed a probe solution for revenue assurance (billing assurance), which delivers significantly reduced total cost of ownership to telecom operators.

Other applications for the probe solution from EPS-Tech include location base services, lawful intercept for intelligence, traffic sense and statistics.
