HW and SW platform for ATM and IP in 3G

Creative Electronic Systems has unveiled its Transport Network Solution (TNS), which is an IP and ATM multiservice platform for telecommunication equipment focusing on the third generation cellular (3G) arena. The TNS innovative architecture allows easy transition from ATM to IP and ensures therefore a smooth UMTS migration path. It claims a world-class set of IP and ATM features for both transmission and switching and includes interworking of ATM, POS and TDM and ATM-IP transport media.

The TNS, based on the state of the art WinPath network processor from Wintegra, is flexible enough to cope with constantly changing and evolving specifications of the 3GPP and IETF, yet is extremely powerful on both data and control paths with most of the functions performed in hardware.

A complete software offering including all the 3GPP Transport Network Layers for Iub (Node B - RNC), Iur (RNC - RNC), Iu-PS (RNC - SGSN) and Iu-CS (RNC - MSCU) alleviates the customer from developing these layers and allows focus to be on customer applications.
