Appliance secures network applicationsMid-range network security appliance supports a wide range of expandability options for high-end performanceThe ALS-3206 is the latest rack-mount Internet security platform from Adlink Technology. The unit is positioned as a mid-range network security appliance, yet supports a wide range of expandability options for high-end performance. The ALS-3206 supports several Intel processors, including the Core2 Duo, Core Duo, Core Solo and Celeron M processors; supports the Intel 945 GME and ICH7 chipsets; and provides two slots of PCI-X and one PCI extension slot. One novel feature of the ALS-3206 is the option to configure the two PCI-X extension slots: one to extend a four-port gigabit Ethernet card and the other to extent a network security accelerator. This combination of features presents an excellent choice for antivirus software security, content security and PKI software applications. For extended connectivity, the ALS-3206 offers six 10/100/1000Mbit/s LAN ports at the front panel. There is also an RS232 serial port (DB-9 connector) for local system management, maintenance and diagnostics. The ALS-3206 provides four SATA II HDD interfaces, two DIMM sockets supporting up to 4Gbyte of DDR2 RAM, four USB 2.0 ports, two PS/2 ports, a CompactFlash slot, and one VGA port-all in a 1U form factor. |
