Convertor switches communications standards

Red Lion's ICM5 convertor offers high-end features, functionality, flexibility and affordability. The converter automatically senses traffic to convert RS232, to and from RS422 and RS485 signals and provides three-way 1000V isolation. It offers a convenient connection via DB9, RJ11 or terminal block, which prevents miswiring and results in timesavings.

Internal pull-up and pull-down resistors resolve compatibility problems, while switchable termination and biasing resistors add further functionality.

The ICM5 is versatile and forward compatible, featuring a 9-24V DC power range, switch-selectable baud rates from, 9600 to 115.2K, and LED indicators for power, transmit and receive.

The maximum cable length for RS232 is 15.24m and for RS485 is 1219.2m.

The compact unit fits both G and T DIN rail mounts.

Operating temperatures for the ICM5 range are from 0 to +50C whilst storage temperatures can be anywhere between -40 and +75C.

Operating and storage humidity is 85%, whilst maximum, noncondensing, relative humidity is 0 to +50C.

The ICM5 operates at up to 20km and its power requirements are +9 to +26V DC at 125mA maximum, and 85mA typical.

Operating power supply is Class 2 or SELV rated.
