Community to support embedded networking

Digi International is launching an authorised developer programme for companies developing solutions that add value to, and increase the abilities of, Digi embedded networking products. The first company to join the programme is German-based embedded systems developer ise. The authorised developer programme is open to software developers, embedded tool providers and companies offering training in technologies used in Digi's embedded products.

Digi authorised developers can provide high levels of expertise in specific areas crucial to a product's success, and provide products and services to expedite time to market.

'Members of the authorised developer programme will benefit from enhanced technical support with their development projects as well as joint promotion opportunities', commented Bob Blumenscheid, Product Marketing Manager at Digi International.

'The net result will be an extension in the range of uses for Digi products that will benefit Digi customers by giving them a wide variety of fast-to-market solutions'.

ise, which specialises in building automation, has been using ARM processors from Digi for five years as a base platform for its products.

ise works for the majority of building automation companies in Germany developing EIB and KNX systems for intelligent buildings.

Most of its applications have been built on Digi's NET+ARM operating system, Windows CE and Linux.

It is also looking to begin to develop products based on Microsoft's.NET Micro-Framework which is currently in Beta testing.

Digi and ise are both Microsoft partners.

'Being a Digi authorised developer will enable us to create a much more diverse offering for our customers', stated Christoph Sahm, General Manager of ise.

'When we heard about the programme, we wanted to be the first to be involved because of the great benefits membership will give to our new and existing customers'.
