The DDS-XM100 series is a modern, solid state data storage unit designed specifically to replace outdated magnetic tape and disk storage systems, such as those used within older telephone exchanges. The XM100 series can be configured to deliver up to 48Gbyte of solid state storage and connect to a wide range of devices via standard SCSI, Pertec or Kennedy interfaces. The unit is fully operational with a wide range of legacy equipment from suppliers including NEC, Siemens, Ericsson and Alcatel. The Bluewater DDS-XM100 units can be easily networked to remove the need to transport the data physically. They also have external flash memory storage that enables the data to be loaded and archived onto 4Gbyte removable SD cards. The XM100 has been developed to meet a need for a cost effective solution to extend the life of functional telephone exchanges, where the investment required to completely replace exchanges with new technology is not feasible. With parts and media for these components becoming harder to source, the DDS-XM100 provides a plug and play replacement that can be quickly and easily installed without the need for system changes. The extremely low cost per unit (from US $5000 per unit depending on configuration), hardy nature of the solid state technology, plus the ease of installation, operation and low requirement for maintenance, are crucial factors in the decision to buy the units by overseas telecommunication companies. Units have already been sold for use in New Zealand and Jamaica, with strong interest from the Philippines, Sri Lanka, Thailand, South America and the tiny principality of Bhutan in the Himalayas. |
